The increasing influence of football on fashion continues, with Wales Bonner’s London Fashion Week show offering a sneak peek at the British label's upcoming FW20 collaboration with adidas, which features a significant football-inspired theme.

British fashion designer Grace Wales Bonner chose the early days of this year’s London Fashion Week to show off her upcoming collaboration with adidas, and it features more than a hint of inspiration from the world of football. The collection is actually dedicated to lovers’ rock, the reggae genre popular in London in the 70s and 80s, but a strong through link to football featured in that era, and Wales Bonner has been quick to infuse the feel into her fashion collection.

This collection will be the second between Wales Bonner and adidas, and a Samba designed by Bonner takes centre stage, with strong embroidered detailing and co-branding on a black base with a deliciously retro fold-over tongue offering up an entirely alternative perspective to sportswear.

Despite not yet being shown off at the show, the Samba is joined by a jersey that gives off plenty of vintage vibes, with a yellow base combined with contrasting black detailing through the Three Stripes and on a delicious collar. The collection is further complemented by a selection of tracksuit jackets and trousers, completing a retro power punch of football fashion.
