Time to roll out the jokes about Neymar being an actor and how he’s finally got a part, because the long-awaited Netflix docuseries focussing on the PSG star is finally set to hit our screens early next year, with the first trailer having just dropped.

Well we’ve been fairly sure that this one was on the way for almost two years now, but with the launch of the first trailer, we now know that ‘Neymar: The Perfect Chaos’ will be a three-part Netflix docuseries offering the chance to get up close and personal with the PSG and Selecao star, and it will be available to stream from late January. Like the march of time, this one was inevitable…

The docuseries promises to show one of the most famous and highest-paid athletes in history like you’ve never seen before. Set to cast light on the flamboyant showman that is Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior, who plays the part of both hero and villain on the pitch as well as appearing a controversial figure off it, this three-part docuseries, directed by David Charles Rodrigues, goes in-depth on the man behind the star.

It tracks his rise to fame at Santos, his glory days at FC Barcelona and the rollercoaster ride with the Brazilian National team and with Paris Saint-Germain, all while lifting the veil behind Neymar’s marketing machine, led with a tight grip by his father. This star-studded series features interviews with Beckham, Messi, Mbappé and many other legends, as they weigh in on Neymar’s place in sports history.

Definitely one for the New Year watchlist.
