Everton go back to black as Umbro unveil their new 2014/15 away kit, to be worn on the road in Europe and the EPL.

Referencing the early years of Everton FC, Umbro have taken the club back to the dark days (in a good way) with an all black new away strip. The new kit will be worn for the first time in their friendly against Premier League newcomers Leicester City in Bangkok on Sunday 27 July and features a crew neck collar with a v stretch rib insert. A knitted shadow stripe gives the shirt a stylish finish whilst raglan sleeves offer an enhanced fit and freedom of movement.

Whilst predominantly black, the away shirt carries subtle design references to the ‘home’ blue of Everton. The back neck tape features a fabric panel in Everton blue and the inside of the hem uses blue stitching. On the back of the shirt, eight laser-cut ventilation holes are in blue, with the top one on each side in the shape of the iconic Toffee Tower.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez said: “I know all our fans like to see the new kits when they are revealed and I am sure that they will enjoy the black away strip. This colour kit was associated with Everton in the very early years of our football club and our supporters always like a historical link. This new away kit has a modern and stylish look to it and I am looking forward to seeing the players perform in it.”
