On the back of a season where Roma showed immense fighting spirit to battle back against the fiercest of Champions League opponents in Barcelona, Nike have launched the 18/19 home shirt with a timely inspiration from ancient Roman chainmail armour.
Roma and Nike have produced some of the most stunning low-key designs in recent seasons, and the 2018/19 campaign uniform follows that trend with deep red layering over a full body graphic taken from "Lorica Hamata", the chainmail armour worn by soldiers in ancient Rome. It doesn't get much stronger than that.
As rendered, the links on the Giallorossi shirt represent the unbreakable bond between AS Roma, the city and the club’s fans all over the world. The new Roma 18/19 home shirt will be worn by the players for the first time during Roma versus Juventus in Serie A on May 13.
The Roma 18/19 home shirt is available from May 17.
