Making waves. Real Madrid lend their power to the 'Parley for the Oceans' campaign as adidas launch the club's new third shirt for the 2018/19 season. The first ever kit from the club to be mass-produced from Parley Ocean Plastic.

Real Madrid join Manchester United and Juventus in supporting the Parley initiative on their third strip this season as adidas look to help spread an immensely important issue to the colossal footballing community. Every single Real Madrid 18/19 third jersey is made from plastic found and recycled from our oceans and finished in a bold coral colour as a homage to the beauty of the oceans we need to protect.

“Real Madrid has the power to amplify our message, to share it with their massive global following & to bring it to life with their own decisions & actions,” says Parley For The Oceans founder Cyrill Gutsch. “The message is an urgent one. It addresses the survival of our oceans, of our own species. It addresses the massive problem of marine plastic pollution. It questions the material itself & defines plastic as a prime example of a toxic substance which we can’t afford anymore. It creates too much damage to our oceans & our own health. That is why we are calling for a Material Revolution.”

Parley For The Oceans' "Ocean Plastic Program" intends to end plastic pollution of the oceans through the three pillars of the Parley A.I.R. Strategy: Avoid, Intercept & Redesign. The Three Stripes are throwing their weight behind the campaign by raising awareness in sports – not only have adidas collaborated with Parley on replica kits, but they've also converted up-cycled marine plastic debris into footwear.

The Real Madrid players will be attending an exclusive event tonight at Hunters Point in New York, where the new kit will be unveiled as well as further explanations into the incredible work Parley and adidas are doing. As for the jersey's availability, it drops today and will be worn on pitch for the first time when Real Madrid take on AS Roma on 7 August.
