Working as part of a bigger initiative to clean up the oceans, MLS side Philadelphia Union have launched their 2019 adidas x Parley for the Oceans kit, which is due to be worn on April 20 for their home game against Montreal Impact.

Following up last year's hugely popular launch, MLS and adidas have once again teamed up with Parley to produce exclusive limited-edition shirts for all clubs. Last year’s offerings landed in a monochrome black and white look, while this year’s jerseys are navy and teal, with the Union’s featuring a teal canvas with navy accents.

In addition to the kit launch, Philadelphia Union will be hosting a Community Cleanup in partnership with Philadelphia rapper Asher Roth at Cruz Park on Sunday, April 14 at noon.

The initiative hopes to raise awareness and inspire action around the harmful impact of marine plastic pollution by creating customised uniforms built of technical yarns made from Parley Ocean Plastic®. Each product is crafted using Parley Ocean Plastic™ upcycled from plastic intercepted on beaches and in coastal communities. The adidas x Parley partnership is a part of MLS WORKS Greener Goals, a League-wide effort to highlight MLS’ commitment to environmental sustainability.
