Celebrating 90 years of existence, Serie A outfit Frosinone Calcio have launched a special limited edition jersey, which the team wore on pitch at weekend in their home fixture against Sassuolo.

Produced and designed by Italian brand Zeus Sports, the Frosinone Calcio 90th anniversary jersey adopts the classic yellow and blue colours of the club along with a retro drawstring collar, not unlike PUMA’s recent 125th anniversary Stuttgart jersey (#bringbackdrawstringcollaredshirts). The design features a sash across the chest with the lion from the club’s logo sitting upon it. Beneath that are the numbers “1928 90 2018” in golden yellow embroidery.

It’s a classy offering from the club, packed with loads of retro appeal, and it was worn by the players on the weekend in the home fixture against Sassuolo. Unfortunately they couldn’t find a fitting win to go with the special edition kit, instead slipping to a 0-2 defeat, but let’s not dwell on that bit, eh?

Frosinone Calcio as it is known today was officially founded on 19 September 1928. Over the years it has suffered some ups and downs, spending large periods of time in Serie C. But with this special anniversary also comes an upturn in fortunes, with the club currently enjoying their second stint in Serie A within the last few years.

Unfortunately it appears that you had to be a premium member of the Frosinone store to get your hands on one of these jerseys. Win some, lose some.
