Drawing inspiration from the Roman goddess Vesta, Italian design house Ezeta have produced a striking new away shirt for Italian minnows, Vesta Calcio, announcing a new partnership between the pair.

Ezeta first popped up on our radar back in September when they produced a sublime kit set for an Italian heritage side named Alba Roma 1907, whose roots are tied to AS Roma. Now, they’re back in focus with the announcement of a new partnership with another Italian minnow side named Vesta Calcio, for whom they have produced another eye-catching design that’s laced in the story of the club.

So, Vesta Calcio compete in the first division of the Lazio League in Rome. Their name is taken from the Roman goddess Vesta (naturally), goddess of the hearth, and her high priestesses had the task of keeping the sacred fire burning; if it went out they would be buried alive. Bit harsh, but them’s the breaks.

The away jersey produced for the side embraces this cult-like status of the goddess in Ancient Roman Civilisation, drawing inspiration from the temple dedicated to her located in Tivoli (where the photoshoot for the jersey took place, incidentally). It’s a building that’s full of architectural and decorative elements and these have been beautifully recreated on the jersey, in Ezeta’s trademark sublimated print style, presented in a monochrome base that’s broken up by a bright and bold orange horizontal band and collar. The numbers on the shirts are also sublimated, lending the design a tidy finish.

As with the Alba Roma shirt selection, with Vesta Calcio’s stature in the game, this shirt arrives more as a lifestyle piece – unless, of course, you want a new small Italian side to follow…
