Celebrating 125 years of football in the country, Umbro Brazil have launched the new 20/21 third shirts for Avaí, Chapecoense, Fluminense, Grêmio, Santos and Sport Recife, drawing on the history of each club for the shirt designs.

Pulling on the strong heritage of each club, Umbro Brazil have presented special new third shirts for each of their six Brazilian sides, utilising retro club crests that hark back to past glories. The tagline for the launch says that “football was created in England, but recreated in Brazil”, and this exchange between the two countries is part of the influence on the design of the shirts, with different graphics and colours linking with the symbolism of each team, even though they're not directly linked to the traditional colours of each one.

Santos' shirt is presented in light blue, widely used by the club throughout its history. Sport Recife mixes wine colour with gold, while Chapecoense is all black with green details, and Avaí is yellow with blue details. The mantle of Fluminense stands out in its green, with portions of orange in its details, while the new Grêmio uniform is all blue, with strokes in black.

Umbro's double diamond is applied in a thermotransfer on all shirts, while the teams' symbol is in embossed TPU, a different material used by Umbro to give more prominence to badges. The kits also have a commemorative label on the front bar and on the back of the neck, highlighting the campaign's theme.

Eduardo Dal Pogetto, Umbro’s brand manager on Brazil, explained: “The relationship between Umbro and football is made of total passion and dedication. Everything we elaborate and do is thinking about the feeling involved in all the details of football, the fans, the history that the clubs build every day. The identity through football is mainly given by the shirts, the mantle we wear says a lot about the way we think and behave, and it is also a responsibility. This collection is in dialogue with the history of glories in our football, with the image we cultivate for the world and for which we still have deep respect and reverence.

The "125 Years of Football" 20/21 third shirts will be available from 18 September on umbro.com.br
