Designed with inspiration from the iconic ’92 jersey and marking the 30th anniversary of the nation’s European title, Hummel have unveiled the Denmark home, away and third shirts for the 2022 World Cup.

June 26, 1992 will forever be printed in the memory of Danish football fans. Denmark made the impossible possible and became European champions with a 2-0 win against Germany. To mark the 30th anniversary of the greatest triumph in Danish football, the new national team jerseys for the upcoming World Cup have been designed with inspiration from the ‘92 jersey. The same monochrome design is presented in red (home), white (away), and black (third), with every element, including the national crest and branding, washed in the respective colour.

Although the jersey is a remake of the ‘92 kit and marks the 30th anniversary of the Euros success, we’re not heading for a nostalgic tribute of the old legends,” explained hummel CEO, Allan Vad Nielsen. “We are going to the World Cup with one of the strongest Danish national teams in recent times, and therefore the jersey is also a symbol of the fact that tomorrow’s legends are born now. In 20-30 years, it will hopefully be the current national team players that we remember with the same legendary status as we do with the ‘92 team today.

“We are incredibly proud of our current national team and their achievements both on and off the pitch. They have proven that we should not be afraid to dream big. Therefore, we also believe that we can help write some new history in Danish football – and together with the Danish national team, we dream of a World Cup trophy in December, which will make the jersey the object of a new generation of national team legends.

The black third shirt will be worn by the players at Thursday’s Nations League clash against Croatia, while the home jersey will be in action for the first time for the match against France on 25 September at Parken Stadium.
