10 | F50 Messi miadidas (December 2012) - Granted these were only worn once but nevertheless they were still only worn by Messi himself. The Barcelona no.10 laced up in the fan-designed colourway against Atlético Madrid. Fans of Messi were given the chance to submit their designs on miadidas with the main man himself picking his favourtie to wear. The winning design came from Spain's Javier Pascual Mullor.

9 | F50 Ballon d'Or Messi (January 2013) - Ok, looks wise this was a bit of a disaster but it's the thought that counts. Adidas created a one off pair of adizero F50 boots to commemorate Messi's fourth consecutive Ballon d'Or award in 2013. Each of those ugly suns across the boot contained the year of a Ballon d'Or success. Just smile and say thank you Lionel.

8 | F50 Messi Turbo/Purple/White (June 2013) - The exclusive design dropped just in time for Messi to kick off the 2013/14 season and reflected Barcelona's famous home colours. Worn by Messi up until the turn of the year when he switched into the current F50 adizero model.

7 | F50 Messi Samba (February 2014) - Messi saw out last season in his first exclusive colourway of the 2014 F50 adizero model. A vibrant collection of colours that would be used heavily on the pre-World Cup packs such as the Samba Copa Mundial collection and the adidas Samba Pack, Messi first wore the boot in Barca's 2-0 Champions League last 16 first leg win over Manchester City. He scored, obviously.

6 | F50 Messi "Battle Pack" (May 2014) - Adidas rolled out the distinctive "Battle Pack" for their players to wear at the World Cup in Brazil but they reserved special treatment for their star player. Messi slipped into a "Battle Pack" F50 adizero that featured a blue strip down the centre to separate him from the rest and to reflect his Argentina colours.

5 | F50 Messi "Red/White" (February 2013) -After breaking the record for the amount of goals in a calendar year adidas presented Messi with a red and white signature adizero. Red being Messi’s favourite color and representative of the danger he poses on pitch, and white to symbolise the lightness of his movements which complement the speed-inspired graphics.

4 | F50 Messi "Neon Orange" (August 2014) - The current signature Messi F50 is one of the best yet for us. A predominantly one coloured boot makes a change from the busy designs we've seen on previous editions, whilst still packing the necessary punch to stand out on pitch.

3 | F50 Messi Ballon d'Or (January 2012) - Another Ballon d'Or, another celebratory boot. After notching the 2011 prize adidas produced a Gold/White/Black F50 adizero that featured his previous successes on the stripes of the boot. Clean, simple, with a touch of deserved gold, but can only take our bronze.

2 | F50 Messi Limited Edition "370" (March 2014) - To tie in with Messi breaking Paulino Alcantara's all time goal scoring record of 369 goals for Barcelona, adidas marked the astounding achievement with a celebratory pair of Messi F50 adizero boots. Just 370 pairs of special edition boots were created, each one uniquely labelled #001 - #370 to represent each of Leo's goals along the way. Beautifully presented and extremely limited.

1 | F50 Messi "Metallic Gold" (August 2010) - It didn't take long for Messi to leave his mark on the first ever adizero series. They say you've got to be good to wear gold and this man was something else. Four years on and the golden years are still in full flow. If a colourway summed Messi's magic up it's this one. Majestically fitting for a player that possess such incredible talent.
