Introducing the world's lightest ever football boot. Smashing down the boundaries of innovation adidas have become the first brand to go sub-100g as the adizero 99g kicks off their new "Limited Collection" series, which will see a number of releases in super-limited quantities, showcasing the best in adidas innovation.

It's been almost two years since we first saw a concept model of the 99g boot at the adidas Innovation Lab in 2013 and now adidas have re-written the rule books of lightweight boot design by doing what many assumed was impossible, by producing a football boot that delivers just two digits on a pair of scales.

Making a 99g boot is one thing, but making it match-fit is another and adidas have rigorously tested for tear strength and abrasions, ensuring players are suitably protected in an increasingly fast and competitive game. Ground-breaking features of the 99g boot include a 1mm polyamide outsole, an extremely lightweight upper layer made from a single layer of woven polyester mesh and a unique stud layout to ensure fastest possible movements.

Some description

Weighing literally half the weight of an average boot the adizero 99g has undergone extensive global player-testing, from amateur, semi-pro and pro players including Karim Benzema and David Alaba. Numbers wise, just 299 limited edition pairs will be released globally on April 15, the only catch being that they'll only be available to purchase in a size 8.5 UK but each pair will be individually numbered.

The adidas adizero 99g will be available from select online stockists including Pro-Direct Soccer. We await your thoughts... Drop us a line below.
