The group draw for next summer’s Copa America took place last night, and as part of the ceremony, Nike unveiled the official match ball for the 2020 tournament, with fresh aesthetics for the familiar Merlin model.

The Copa America is set to take place in Argentina and Colombia next summer, and following a the reveal of the 'Uniforia' match ball for Euro 2020, we’ve now got our first look at the Copa America match ball, which has been unveiled under the slogan “Inspired by Champions, Made for Champions.”

The new ball replaces the “Rabisco” model from last year’s Copa America, which was hosted in Brazil. Although there is currently no name for the ball, the design sees a white base with a ‘Tri’ graphic bordered by the colours of the competing nations, and it’s finished off with a big, bold red Swoosh.

The draw for the tournament revealed that hosts Argentina will be joined by guest nation Australia, along with Bolivia, Uruguay, Chile and Paraguay fin Group A, while fellow hosts Colombia take their place alongside Brazil, Qatar – returning once more as guests – Venezuela, Ecuador and Peru in Group B.
