Nike has been supplying the Premier League with its official match balls for 20 years now, and as part of the celebrations the Swoosh is rereleasing special limited anniversary editions of some of the milestone balls from the relationship that have defined the game for the past two decades. And next up it’s the Total 90 Tracer from the 2010/11 season, which represents the halfway point of the partnership to date.

Has it really been ten years since we saw Wayne Rooney swivelling on the spot and adjusting his body position before expertly rising and shinning the T90 Tracer – official match ball of the Premier League for the 2010/11 season – past a helpless Joe Hart? Time sure does fly. As did Wayne Rooney apparently. And as part of the celebration around the 20-year partnership with the Premier League, Nike follow up the re-release of the Geo Merlin – the brand's first Premier League match ball – with the re-launch of the T90 Tracer in limited-edition collectible form.

The T90 Tracer anniversary ball is an exact recreation of the original that was used to score 1,063 goals, from the five-layer synthetic casing right down to the arched panels with hand-stitched seams. The limited release will see only 600 balls available for retail, with each one presented in a special box with a stand and coming complete with an individually numbered collector’s certificate.

Another one for the mantelpiece alongside the Geo Merlin and the Hi-Vis Total 90 Aerow, the T90 Tracer is the third instalment in the series, with more re-issued Nike models from legendary seasons gone by set to drop in the near future as the Swoosh continue to celebrate a landmark year.
