As winter slowly gives way to spring we edge into that time of the season where the action hots up and the tensions get higher, with teams pushing for a strong finish. With all of that in mind Nike launch the 21/22 Third Premier League Flight ball, which will be used for the remaining fixtures.

As is customary these days, Nike switch out the high vis official match ball that has seen us through the darker winter months, bringing a new design on to the pitch and into focus for the remainder of the campaign. As with previous third ball designs, it puts the title charge into top billing, with the Premier League trophy set at the centre of a sighting target. But there’s so much more to play for, as we all know, with the battle to avoid relegation and to get into the top four still all up in the air, and this is the ball that will be in the thick of all the action.

The design of the 21/22 Nike Flight Premier League match ball sees it arrive in a “White/Baltic Blue/Laser Crimson/Black” colourway, with a white base joined by a the same graphic that was inspired by organic connectivity that featured on both the initial 21/22 ball and the hi-vis. But the main difference here is that the 12 signal pods (the circles that appear across the ball’s surface, driving enhanced visual performance and allowing the players to read the pace and spin of the ball) become more prominent, sitting above the other graphics in a much bolder look.

Tech-wise it’s the same Flight ball that’s been in use since last season, so we still get the game-changing AerowSculpt technology introduced to improve consistency and give the ball a truer flight.
