adidas Unveils TRIONDA FINAL as the World Cup Enters Its Defining Moments

After weeks of drama, surprises and unforgettable performances, the 2026 World Cup has now reached the stage where every touch, tackle and goal carries even greater significance. The semi-finals, bronze final and final are where legacies are made, and as the pressure intensifies, all eyes inevitably turn to the centre of the action – the match ball.

With the stakes at their highest, adidas has revealed TRIONDA FINAL, the Official Match Ball that will be used throughout the closing stages of the tournament. Designed specifically for the World Cup's biggest fixtures, the new ball is intended to match the scale of the occasion while delivering the same elite-level performance players have relied on since the opening match.

Building on the TRIONDA Official Match Ball, first unveiled in October 2025, TRIONDA FINAL introduces a fresh visual identity while retaining the same proven construction. For the first time in World Cup history, adidas has moved beyond the traditional approach of simply refreshing the colourway for the latter stages of the competition, instead creating a dedicated design that reflects the significance of the matches that will ultimately decide the destination of football's most coveted prize.

The inspiration behind the design is clear. A striking gold finish pays tribute to the World Cup trophy itself, symbolising the journey every nation has taken in pursuit of football's ultimate honour. Set against a bold black base, the gold detailing gives the ball a premium and distinctive appearance, while vibrant pink and red accents inject additional energy and create a visual connection to the footwear being worn by players on the pitch.

Beyond its eye-catching aesthetics, TRIONDA FINAL also serves as a tribute to the cities hosting the tournament's decisive encounters. adidas has incorporated a bold typographic treatment directly into the ball's panel graphics, with the four cities hosting the final stages – Dallas, Atlanta, Miami and New York New Jersey – featured prominently within the main design elements. The remaining host cities are woven into the triangular graphics across the surface, creating a layered storytelling approach that celebrates the tournament's journey from start to finish.

While the look may have evolved, the performance remains exactly the same. TRIONDA FINAL retains the four-panel construction, panel shape and surface structure of the original TRIONDA ball, ensuring complete consistency from the tournament's opening kick-off through to its final whistle.

Engineered for the demands of the modern game, the ball features intentionally deep seams and strategically positioned surface textures, helping to optimise aerodynamics, improve flight stability and deliver consistent performance at the highest level. It also incorporates the latest generation of adidas Connected Ball Technology, providing precise real-time ball data to support faster decision-making from match officials while offering enhanced insight into key moments on the pitch.

As the World Cup enters its most dramatic chapter, TRIONDA FINAL is set to take centre stage alongside the players chasing football immortality. With every pass, strike and potentially title-winning goal, it will be the ball at the heart of the moments that define the 2026 tournament.
