Manchester United Ready To Return To The Three Stripes As adidas Emerge As Favourites To Land Record Breaking £60m-A-Season Kit Deal.

Adidas have emerged as frontrunners to take over from Nike as the official Manchester United kit suppliers from the 2015/16 season with a monster kit deal that will become the biggest in football’s history. After yesterday's confirmation that the coming 2014/15 season will be Nike's last with the Premier League club after 13 years, reports that adidas will shatter the world-record kit deal have continued to gather pace.

Though not confirmed, the deal is said to be in the £60million-a-season region, more than double the £24million-a-season United earn from their current deal with Nike. Adidas previously supplied Manchester United kits between 1980 and 1992, before the club switched to Umbro in a deal that lasted 10 years circa to Nike taking the reigns in 2002.

Manchester United will become the third high-profile club Nike have lost in the last year, with Arsenal and Juventus both agreeing their respective big-money deals with PUMA and adidas.
