Nike launch 2014/15 Manchester United Home Kit To Kick Off The Van Gaal Reign.

Welcoming in another new era at Old Trafford, Nike have launched the 2014/15 Manchester United home kit that features the Chevrolet sponsor across the front of the jersey for the first time as part of a £53m per year deal. The new kit that features a red shirt, white collar and cuffs with a red and black trim, is Nike's final release of the company's current contract with the Premier League club that is due to expire at the end of next season.

The instantly recognisable red, white and black colours that have defined United as one of the world’s most revered clubs remain as the DNA of the kit. The new jersey welcomes the return of the white collar, which for the first time is a ribbed crew-neck design. The bottom of the collar has a subtle chevron finish to replicate the pattern used on the chest of United shirts as far back as the early 20th century, and again in recent times.

The button hide in the collar is unique to the shirt - red with a black trim and engraved with the club name. Inside the back of the neck is a small label with the message: “Youth, Courage, Greatness” to represent’s the club’s values. On the back of the shirt below the neck is a black devil from the club crest, and across the back is a series of chevrons in engineered mesh.

The new Manchester United 2014/15 home kit is available to pre-order from today at selected online stockists including Pro-Direct Soccer. Let us know what you think of the design in the comments below.
