Headlining Nike's new Fall '14 colour updates is the "Laser Orange" Mercurial Superfly IV which will be seen on the feet of Nike's Superfly players in the Champions League group game openers.

After somewhat being in the shadow of the HyperVenom in 2013, there's no doubt that the Mercurial Superfly has reclaimed its place as Nike’s headline act. Now four colourways strong, the Superfly IV catalogue is already a strong one, with the new “Laser Orange” design succeeding the previous three “HyperPunch”“Stealth” and "Electric Green” editions. The latest arrival will get its first official run-out this week in the Champions League on the feet of Mercurial players including Alexis Sanchez and Raheem Sterling. The boots have been arriving in players lockers over the past week, with Roma striker Juan Manuel Iturbe becoming one of the first to reveal the boots. Nike’s complete Mercurial roster will slip into the “Laser Orange” colourway while Cristiano Ronaldo will remain in his “Electric Green” boots.

“Nike constantly strives to employ color in original and innovative ways,” said Denis Dekovic, Nike Football Design Director. “For our new collection, we utilized vibrant colors to create a striking new look on-pitch. Our intention here was to amplify color as much as possible, we wanted to produce the brightest possible colors and really tap into their vibrancy.”
