Having already teased an upcoming collaboration, Manchester-based streetwear brand Drama Call has today unveiled a fresh take on Manchester United’s third jersey from 1988.

Coming on the same day that adidas unveiled their latest retro Man Utd collection, which also featured the Red Devils’ iconic 1988 third kit, Drama Call reveal a collaboration with the Premier League side that’s been being teased over the last week or so. Those teases began with some dual branded posters appearing around the city, and it was followed up by a tease video on the streetwear label’s social channels.

Now we get to see what the hype is all about. It’s assumed that the collaboration would bring a collection of co-branded items that leant into Drama Call’s skater heritage, but what we get here is a single item – albeit a very good look at it. The jersey looks to be a fairly faithful recreation of the 1988 third shirt, much like what arrived as part of the latest Man United x Originals collection, but the design is then elevated by Drama Call branding on the right side of the shirt, while the opposite side is then hit with Drama’s sparkle detailing, a graphic seen consistently across the imprint’s tracksuit and T-shirt designs. The design is finished with additional Drama branding on the rear that sits alongside the years 1988 and 2023.
