Nike have unveiled the new look Man United third shirt for the 2014/15 season inspired by United's tradition of blue kits from the 1980's as well as the kit they wore to lift the European Cup in 1968, the first English club to do so.

The base colours of the shirt consist of two tones of blue divided by a red stripe on both sides of the kit to represent United's famous home colour. The shirt, shorts and socks are all a rich and vibrant blue on the front with a darker tone of the same color on the entire back. The half-and-half appearance is a traditional football kit design, but this is the first season it has ever been used on the front and back.

The shirt boasts a classic fold over collar and a deep three button design in the darker tone of blue. Inside the back of the neck is a label with the message, "Youth, Courage, Greatness" to represent the club’s values. The kit is only likely to be worn in cup competitions and against teams that wear red and white home colours to avoid clashing with United's two other 14/15 shirts, expect outings at Sunderland, Stoke, Liverpool, Southampton.
