The battle for supremacy between Pro Evo and FIFA has seemingly long been over, with the latter showing its utter dominance in the gaming world over the last decade. To try and get a foothold in the battle once more though, Konami, the maker of PES, has launched a free-to-play iteration of the game, named PES 2019 'LITE'.

The free-to-play edition of PES 2019 is available via download for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC STEAM, enabling users to play a range of online and offline game modes from the full version. Sort of like a taster if you must.

This 'LITE' version offers unrestricted access to myClub mode – PES's answer to FIFA's Ultimate team – and within that it allows players to sign and train current footballing superstars as well as legends such as David Beckham, Diego Maradona (following a legal battle last year), Gabriel Batistuta, Ronaldinho, Recoba, Cambiasso, Djorkaeff and Adriano, with more to be added following launch. Now you're a little bit interested, right?

A number of other modes from the full version are also available, including offline exhibition matches, skill training and the PES League Mode. LITE, but sounds like it still comes with plenty to keep you entertained and at a price we can all afford. Is it enough to pull people away from FIFA though? Doubt it...
