Umbro have unveiled PSV Eindhoven's home and away kits for the upcoming 2016/17 season as the Eredivisie Champions set out to retain the title they clinched in dramatic fashion on the final day of the 2015/16 campaign.

The red and white stripes are a given for any PSV home strip but the 2016/17 edition is a landmark jersey for the club. It will be the very first strip that holds the name of a sponsor that isn't that of the club's founding company Philips. Energiedirect.nl become the club's new principal sponsor and in turn give the new shirt an unfamiliar look, although a stylish one with the clean sponsor helping a tidy vibe. Modern-classic is what Umbro do best when it comes to kit design and the PSV home shirt is another sleek and contemporary design that recognises the key values of the club.

Some description

Unsurprisingly, the away shirt is an equally impressive design set out in two blocks of blue to complete a delicious duo of jerseys. There's no templates here – Umbro give the full bespoke treatment to each of their clubs, and that's undoubtably appreciated by the fans. PSV have won 33 trophies with the Philips name across the front of their shirts and the 2016/17 season marks a new era for the club as they look to maintain their domestic status and increase their European prowess.

The Umbro PSV 2016/17 kits are available from July 26.
