Olympique de Marseille ended their season as so many teams seem to these days, debuting their new home shirt from PUMA for the coming 2019/20 season. The design pays tribute to 120 years of proud footballing tradition and the city of Marseille itself.

The new Olympique Marseille 2019/20 home shirt from PUMA takes a classic pure white base and embellishes it with turquoise flourishes for a classy finish. Upon first glance, the pin stripes appear to simply be a nice tribute to historic shirt designs, but a closer look reveals the words ‘Olympique de Marseille’ throughout. This is combined with a V-neck and a raglan sleeve cut, further highlighting the club’s proud traditions as they celebrate their 120th anniversary.

A blue cross on a white insert on the back of the neck represents the city of Marseille’s flag, which, starting in the middle ages, became the internationally recognised symbol of the Mediterranean port city, giving the shirt another link to the past. The on-pitch variation features an 'Orange' sponsor logo. Look, it's not hideous as sponsor logos go, but it's definitely a case of looking better without, and thankfully, that's how the shirt comes. Less is more, as they say. This is PUMA’s second season as Marseille’s kit supplier and if this offering is a sign of where the relationship is heading, count us in.
