For their first return to the Champions League since 2013, PUMA launch the Olympique de Marseille 20/21 third shirt, with a design that’s inspired by the hip-hop culture of the city.

Marseille are set to make their long-awaited return to Europe’s premier club competition, finding themselves in Group C, alongside Porto, Olympiacos, and Manchester City. It’s a daunting group, but alongside their home and away shirts, they’ve now been kitted out in a new shirt design for the occasion, with PUMA supplying a design that’s inspired by the hip-hop culture of the city with a sky-blue base and neon green branding.

The city's famous hip hop culture has translated into the swirl graphic print on the front that emanates from the club crest on the chest. "The hip hop culture within Marseille is unique to the city itself,” remarked Legendary rap group IAM. “While other cities may follow the trends of the US, the rappers of Marseille use the genre of music to promote their local culture instead. There is a culture of respect – we’re all Marseillaise.

The shirt design follows news that Olympique de Marseille have launched their own record label, OM Records, while the shirt itself is set to be worn for the first time this Sunday, when Marseille travel to Lyon.
