As if they weren't going to do a remake of that ball. The Nike Phantom GT 'Scorpion' headlines the new limited edition pack, but for those who remember the original 2002 Secret Tournament video it was all about that silver match ball. Blessed by Cantona and used as the centre-piece in football's greatest ever advert, it's a piece of history. And now, it's remade for 2020.
The first thing we all asked when we saw a glimpse of the boots was whether they were making an updated ball, and now we have our wish. It might not be as mirrored as the 2002 original but a modern twist on the current Nike Flight ball is what we've got, complete with Scorpion graphic to give it that sense of throwback authenticity.
Ok, it's not the top end Flight ball edition that's used in the Premier League; this is the cheaper 'Strike' edition, but that does nothing to stop us blasting 'A Little Less Conversation' and throwing down an unhealthy amount of step-overs. As with the boots, the Scorpion ball is limited edition so expect it to sell out pretty sharpish.
