These are going to cause a stir. Alexis Sanchez hits the ground running wearing a leather coated edition of the "Hyper Pink" Mercurial Superfly IV as he returns to training with Arsenal.

If you're a Nike fan, this is big. These beautiful pieces of art you see on the feet of Arsenal striker Alexis Sanchez are set to be the next big drop from Nike Football. An extension of the 'Lightning Storm' pack released in July, the Swoosh are expected to release leather editions of each of their four silhouettes this August. Based on the "Hyper Pink" colourway of the Superfly IV, Sanchez's unreleased kicks boast a layer of leather on top of the Flyknit upper.

The last time Nike released a leather Mercurial was in 2013 with the "Black/White/Red" Mercurial Vapor IX; before that it was the Mercurial Vapor IV EC08. Now, in its latest retune, the Mercurial Superfly IV will come packed with a k-leather overlay across the forefoot and midfoot to create a unique half and half design with the heel area remaining untouched.

On the face of it, it's an awesome mashup of innovation and every footballer's love for leather. We'll have to wait for an official release before knowing exactly how Nike plan to manage this drop. A limited edition pack or something that's here to stay?
