Throwing further weight behind the React running line Nike have unveiled a first look at the Phantom React Flyknit. The Swoosh have taken their popular sneaker to the laceless side for a sleek and minimal transformation.

Nike have been reluctant to take their football boot series into laceless territory but the introduction of the Phantom React Flyknit shows that the brand do have a time and place for the technology. Swapping the traditional lacing system for an elastic Flyknit construction to provide a snug fit, it's a move that takes the React series into a new streetwear space.

Nike have found a perfect balance of blending their running performance sneakers into lifestyle options, and the React Flyknit has already consolidated its position as a laced edition. The Swoosh have pushed the silhouette into football circles by offering up PSG, BarcelonaSpurs & Chelsea versions of the sneaker, and now a laceless drop adds a different dimension.

The Nike Phantom React Flyknit is already out in China, and a full global release is set for May 2.
