Inspired by art, PUMA and PSV have unveiled the club’s new away shirt for the 22/23 season, with a design that consists of a chequered pattern, referring to the club’s history and resembling the exterior of the Van Abbemuseum, the museum of modern and contemporary art in Eindhoven.

Taking a novel approach to the unveiling of their new away shirt, PSV and PUMA put on a unique light show at the Van Abbemuseum, the exterior of which went some way to inspiring the shirt’s design. By means of video mapping-technology, PSV and PUMA projected the presentation of the new away kit on one of the leading museums for modern art, with the chequered pattern telling the history of the club, the Brabant roots, the supporters, and the riches of sports and youth.

The chequered pattern comes in a “Parisian Nights" colourway and features “High Risk Red” details that pop through the collar and cuffs as well as the branding and sponsor.

Through the unique unveiling, PUMA and PSV together became the first to use video mapping technology to present the kit of a professional football club. Now you know for your next pub quiz.
