Continuing the peacock theme that has run through the home and away shirts, Leeds United have revealed their third shirt for 23/24 from adidas, and it’s once again been designed in association with Acid FC.

There’s something immensely satisfying about a story that is carried through a club’s kit set for a season. That level of continuity joins all the designs together and makes them feel like they’re part of the same campaign, and for us, it’s not done any where near enough. But if you want an example of how to do it right, look no further than Leeds United’s wardrobe for 23/24, which has been produced by Adidas but which was designed in association with Acid FC.

Clearly, when the creatives at Acid FC sat down to the amazing project, they wanted to produce something that was at once intrinsically linked to the club’s history and heritage, while also being progressive and beautiful. To do this, they focussed on the peacock, which holds a special place in Leeds United and Elland Road history, with the peacock badge being worn in the early 1980’s, a time when the club was affectionately known as the Peacocks.

That peacock theme has then carried through each shirt, with a subtle imprint on the home design, a slightly more flamboyant look for the away, and then an absolute shackles-off effort for this third shirt. With a striking rose, orange and navy colour scheme, it features a colourful peacock print on the front and peacock crest detail on the back of the neck.

The third kit will be worn by the men's first team for the first time, in Saturday's Sky Bet Championship fixture against Birmingham City at St Andrew's.
