Aleksandr Sukhov (FC Ufa) adidas F50 adizero
Aleksandr Sukhov (behave, you're better than that) went old school at the weekend by lacing up in a pair of the first generation adizero series. Launched in May 2010 the "Sun/Black" colourway joined a matching Predator X and adiPURE III, all worn by the majority of adidas contracted players throughout the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
Charly Musonda (Chelsea) Nike Mercurial Veloce II
Chelsea youngster Charly Musonda has got quite the collection of Nike boots. If you're following him on Instagram you'll know what we mean. His latest custom pair of Mercurials feature a blinged-up golden Safari print on the upper with clean white Swooshes. Smashes Fergie's "youth team players should wear black boots" policy out of the park.
Renato Tapia (Twente) Umbro Velocita
Leading the Umbro charge in 2015 is the new Velocita speed boot silo. Any doubts over the future of Umbro have been abolished this season as the brand is looking stronger than ever, backed up by an impressive selection of player support for their lightweight boot. FC Twente's Renato Tapia continues to fly the Velocita flag in Holland this season.
Danilo (Udinese) Lotto Zhero Gravity 2015
The launch of the 2015 Lotto Zhero Gravity edges closer as Udinese's Danilo gave us another peek at the new generation boot at the weekend. The silo looks to be back on track after a couple of seasons of average offerings, with a much sleeker design and brighter, more graphic visuals more associated with a speed-styled football boot.
Tomoaki Makino (Urawa Reds) adidas F50 adizero
We haven't had one for a while but the odd-boot club is still very much alive with Tomoaki Makino reppin' the look this week. The Urawa Reds man opted for the standard "Solar Red" colourway of the adizero F50 on his left foot and a custom, corresponding "White/Red" combo on his right.
Memphis Depay (PSV) Under Armour
Newest Under Armour recruit Memphis Depay continued his goal-scoring form this weekend by notching his 22nd goal of the season as PSV hammered Go Ahead Eagles 3-0. Since signing a long-term contract with the American brand last week Depay has been wearing an exclusive unreleased boot, details of which shall be announced in due course.
Kaka (Orlando City) adidas Copa Munidal
The new MLS season kicked off at the weekend with the pick of the fixtures featuring the league's new boys. Orlando City took on New York City in front of over 60,000 fans and the home side had captain Kaka to thank as the 2002 World Cup winner scored the club's first ever goal with a heavily deflected last minute free kick to rescue a point. Kaka was wearing a semi-blacked out pair of adidas Copa Mundial boots with the Three Stripes seemingly removed from the upper.
Francesco Totti (Roma) Nike Tiempo Legend V Premium
Totti's Nike Tiempo Legend V Premium boots sold out in a matter of hours upon release this week. The Roma legend was credited with an exclusive Tiempo boot that featured his trademark fold-over tongue, a feature that Totti has kept since Nike replaced it in 2011. All 3000 pairs were snapped up with Totti sporting a pair of his own at the weekend against Chievo.
Luis Suarez (Barcelona) adidas F50 adizero
Luis Suarez fittingly debuted the "Love/Hate" adidas Tattoo Pack F50 at the weekend. The Barca striker notched a brace as his side ran riot at the Nou Camp, smashing Rayo Vallecano 6-1. Playing on the #therewillbehaters campaign the F50 splits its design with the left boot labelled as the “Hate” boot and the right boot spreads the "Love".
Andres Iniesta (Barcelona) Nike Magista Opus
Even Nike's most loyal players are now switching out of the high-collared Magista Obra. Andres Iniesta became the latest high-profile player to leave Nike's Dynamic Fit Collar behind as he switched into the Opus silo at the weekend. That's a very high number of players who have now tried the technology and reverted back to what they know. See you later innovator?
Teal Bunbury (New England Revolution) adidas Predator Instinct
Seattle Sounders' Lamar Neagle and New England Revolution's Teal Bunbury literally went head to head at the weekend. Both players were laced up in the latest #ThereWillBeHaters Predator Instinct colourway, an edition that hasn't seen much on-pitch time on European shores but packs a design typical of the adidas campaign.
Federico Vismara (Huracan) adidas 11Pro SL
Federico Vismara dug into his archive this week to pull out the adidas 11Pro SL from November 2012. Weighing in at just 180g the SL was 25% lighter than the standard 11Pro at the time. The new 11Pro Crazylight may be lighter than that but it's nowhere near as stylish as the low-key 11Pro SL's "Black/Pop" visuals.
Dani Alves (Barcelona) Nike Mercurial Vapor X
Dani Alves' boot saga took another turn at the weekend. Just as he looked to be settled in the 'Shine Through' Mercurial Vapor X Alves has blacked out his boots to hide any branding. So far this season the Barca full back has switched between old Vapor and F50 models, black-outs and non-black-outs and still it appears that he's yet to sign a new contract with either brand.
