New Balance officially unveiled their fifth generation Furon football boot series this week at a bespoke launch event in Manchester. Crossing the divide from Merseyside to back the boots was Liverpool forward and leading New Balance athlete Sadio Mané.
Mané will wear the new Furon 5.0 colourway on pitch for the first time on Saturday when Premier League leaders Liverpool host Crystal Palace at Anfield, but before he gets down to business he was on set to chat through his relationship with New Balance and guide the assembled crowds through a couple of speed and shooting challenges focusing on the features of the lightweight silo.
New Balance also shone the spotlight on their other leading football boot – the Tekela 1.0 – dressed in the same "Emerald Green/Black" combination. It's strong start to 2019 for New Balance, with a next-generation Furon dropping in the smartest of colourways. A Liverpool title success with Mané notching a few key goals along the way would mark a very successful year for the brand indeed, as well as carving their logo into the history books of one of the world's most iconic football clubs.
